We are a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing quality early childhood education, care and family support since 1905 (in other words, for over 116 years). We are one of Australia’s most respected children’s services organisations. We are proud of our long history of working with children and their families, working with communities, and supporting the development of our dedicated staff. At SDN, we create a village of learning and support for each child. Our village consists of around 700 staff across 36 sites in Sydney, regional NSW and the ACT, inclusive of our 27 early learning centres,, Children's Therapies and Family Preservation program. At SDN, we believe that the first five years matter the most and last a lifetime, and our vision is to create an equitable world where all children thrive. That’s why we design our play-based educational programs for this life stage catering to each child’s abilities, interests, and needs. We also engage in discussions and take action to address inequities that prevent children's access to and inclusion in early learning, such as through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholarships, our SDN Beranga Autism Specific Preschool and our Autism Specific Program at SDN Ultimo long day care centre. Our early learning centres are designed to be safe, nurturing environments that support childrens wellbeing, learning and development. Care moments such as rest, sleep, toileting, and mealtimes are important parts of our program. Each of our centres offer healthy and nutritious meals, child-led educational programs (including our school readiness program) and outdoor spaces that provide opportunities for children to enjoy, explore, discover, create, and more! When you join SDN, your child is supported by our village of qualified and trained early childhood professionals. We invite you into you to learn more about us by visiting our website www.sdn.org.au, calling us on 1300 831 445 or e-mailing us at sdn@sdn.org.au. |
